Founded in 2015 by Allan and Alicia Conger, 1912 Brewing Co was established on Tucson’s Westside with the values of family, dedication, and a passion for all things craft. This small, family, and veteran owned brewery has since developed into an exciting venue of collaboration and innovation. We are known for our sours, and the wide variety of beer styles we offer. With 20 craft and specialty beers on tap that are both approachable and creatively engaging, combined with our distinctive family friendly taproom, we aim to produce an enticing and memorable experience. 1912 Brewing Company offers growler fills, pours, kegs, and a variety of merchandise to help our fans proudly display and communicate their predilection for fine craft beer. 


1912 CELLARMAN POSITION –

1912 Brewing Company is a family owned and operated business in Tucson, AZ. We are a creative, customer-centric  tap house brewing a wide variety of beer styles with a twist of our local Sonoran roots. We are a Veteran-owned and Woman-owned business with a flexible working hours, on-the-job training, and company perks!

Brewer and Cellarman positions requires high-energy individuals comfortable with multi-tasking, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to creatively assist in all production operations. The right candidate will be safety-minded, efficient, and quality-focused.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

A passion for Brewing and the Craft Beer industry. Strict attention to detail.

Minimum 1-year for Cellarman and 2-year for Brewer in Commercial Brewery experience is Required.

Strong knowledge of the Brewing process.

High-quality work standards with and without direct supervision.

Ability to understand and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Maintain punctuality and predictable attendance to ensure schedule stays on track.

Abide by proper and safety operations of every machine in work area and follow all safety rules.

Must be 21+y.o | Have a current Driver’s License | Based in Tucson, Arizona.

Position: Tap Room Shift Lead

Reports to: Owners
Schedule: Part-time (30+ hours/week), afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented and passionate craft beer aficionado to assist in operating and growing our 50 seat tap room. This individual will join a small but growing team and will be instrumental to the continued growth and success of the brewery. 1912 Brewing Co is well positioned for continued growth and this position will prove to be a rewarding career opportunity for the right individual with a strong team orientation, entrepreneurial mindset and authentic appreciation for the craft.

 
Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure an enjoyable and consistent 1912 Brewing Co customer experience for the public
  • Maintain a welcoming, educational, exciting and inviting experience 
  • Actively participate in external-facing events at the tap room
  • While on duty, serve as point of contact for taproom staff
  • Mitigating and responding to all tap room related issues, as they arise
  • Efficiently directing customer and vendor inquiries
  • Coordinating and managing food vendors; ensure on-time arrival and freshness of food
  • Supervision of Tap Room Operations
  • Daily opening and closing of the tap room for public visitation and private events
  • Serve beer to and filling growlers for customers
  • Maintain safe, clean, healthy and sustainable tap room environment by daily cleaning
  • Ensuring adequate stock of beer in fridge
  • Maintain tap list and tap room menu
  • Setting up, maintaining and cleaning tap system
  • Facilitate inventory maintenance
  • Promote 1912 Brewing Co and serve as brand ambassador
  • Educate visitors about our products, company and culture
  • Identify additional promotional/event opportunities and foster relationships for promoting the brewery
  • Model the key attributes and cultural values of 1912 Brewing Co at all times


Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • 1 year minimum service-focused role in a bar/restaurant/brewery or similar environment
  • Title 4 certification strongly preferred. Selected candidate will be required to become certified upon hire and before starting.
  • Cicerone certification level I, a plus. 
  • Knowledge of and passion for craft beer and the brewing industry.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and proven leadership skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot tap systems/kegs
  • Strong communications skills – knowing when to ask questions, offer solutions, discuss issues and escalate problems – and then communicating effectively in these situations
  • Attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures with minimal deviation
  • Retail math understanding required
  • Retail point of sales system knowledge and experience highly recommended.
  • Knowledge of safe work operations, safety policies and procedures including sanitary handling of beverages and potentially hazardous chemical and materials
  • Candidates must be able to effectively perform the following on a regular basis:
    • Ability to function productively while standing and moving for significant periods of time necessary
    • Moving heavy objects repeatedly with minimal assistance required (i.e. moving cases/sixtels/165 pound kegs of beer by self or with use of a hand cart/dolly)
    • Be exposed to wet conditions
    • Ability to operate effectively with continuous, moderate noise levels
  • Entrepreneurial team spirit: willing to take initiative and jump in where needed; resourceful in making suggestions and offering solutions
  • Problem solving: ability to quickly assess a situation and solve problems in a timely and effective manner
  • Dependent independence: ability to work independently but also know when to seek direction/guidance appropriately and as needed
