Join us for the 248th celebration of the United States Marine Corps on November 10th, 2023, at 1700 hours.

This year, our focus is on the Marine Hymn, a tribute intertwined with the legacy of famous Marine Corps battles. From the Halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli, these words encapsulate our unwavering commitment to defend our nation’s values, whether in the air, on land, or at sea – always first in the fight for freedom.

The line “To the shores of Tripoli” holds a special significance. It refers to the First Barbary War and, more specifically, the heroic Battle of Derne in 1805. This pivotal engagement marked a historic moment for the Marine Corps when Lieutenant Presley O’Bannon and his Marines proudly raised the American flag on foreign soil for the very first time. It was this courageous act that led to the inclusion of the phrase in the Corps’ battle colors. The Battle of Derne represents a symbol of our enduring dedication to defending liberty and justice.

Adding to the excitement, Marine owned food truck, Daniela’s Cooking will be on hand to delight your taste buds.
